Emerald Isle is one of hte most impressive of Gottex's designs this season. That is always the boast as every one of their season is saturated with beautiful designs, but this is something else. The praise is even more meaningful considering it is one of the few designs that uses a mellow colour palette over the more boisterous and dazzling designs we've seen so far. Uses ancient and masterful techniques like chiaroscuro, the balancing of light and dark to draw the eye, like with the flower motifs on the hips that slim the waist and look almost alive. Emerald Isle also uses trompe-l'oeil, namely creating a three dimensional effect with a flat print, such as the scales or sequins up the front and centre of the design, which are so realistic we had to contact the designer to confirm they were a print. This design might be seasonal and relegated to 2017 but it takes inspiration from centuries of art and design. This version features broader straps and fixed straps contrary to its counterpart of the same name. It is also soft cupped and has tummy control.
