Emerald Isle is one of the most detailed and richly designed of Gottex's new items, which is a heck of an achievement considering it is made from just one colour. Heavily patterned or motif items are usually made from dazzling displays of colour, rather than different shades of blue like this one. The azure to inky blue palette should, by rights, make this swimsuit look murky and without definition or contrast, but the balance of light and dark is so expert that a pattern emerges. Gottex use an old painters technique called "trompe-l'oeil" which means to deceive the eye. You can see that most in the central column of patterning, which looks so much like a series of scales or sequins that we had to double check with the designer. This is how you enchant your fans and to do it all with a mellow blue palette is something quite exceptional. This version of the design comes with removable straps and has soft cups for comfort.
